Not long ago abandoned set of photography negatives was discovered in old building in Lublin. Nobody knows how it got there, because photography studio never was there. This set included very rare photos of pre-war (and even before) Lublin - a lot of child and adult portraits, group photos, interior and exterior shots. We have seen places of old Lublin and its everyday life like never before because not many of such materials survived the war. Since most of photographs depict jews and local jewish school, there is romantic theory now (and actually, it is very probable theory) that jewish photographer hid these photos just before he was taken to Lublin ghetto, which happened not to include the quarter where photographs were found (very famous jewish quarter, actually.)

Beside jews, there are very interesting shots of life of polish military - there are even comical scenes and military hospital shots.

One of them is below - young painter entertains soldiers in hospital by drawing caricatures (you can see them hanging on the walls everywhere.)
